A life remembered
Mrs. Savitri Persad, aged 58, of Malabar, Arima, passed peacefully on 13th May 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born and raised in Malabar, she was a gentle and devoted member of the local Hindu community, worshipping faithfully at the Malabar Hindu Mandir. For more than thirty years she taught at primary schools across the district, shaping generations of young minds with patience and kindness. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Deonarine, her children Vishnu, Anjani and Reshma, her cherished grandchildren, and a wide circle of relatives and former pupils across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.
Funeral arrangements
Service & interment
- ✦Prayers will be held at the family home in Malabar, followed by final rites at the Malabar Hindu Mandir.
- ✦Cremation will take place at the Shore of Peace Cremation Site, Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
- ✦Mourners are kindly asked to wear white. No flowers by request — donations may be made in her memory to the Arima District Health Facility.
