A life remembered
Mr Manuel Ferreira, aged 73, of Woodbrook, Port of Spain, passed peacefully on 3 July 2026, comforted by the presence of his family. He will be remembered with great affection for his generosity, his good humour and his devotion to his community.
Born into a Madeiran Portuguese family and raised in Port of Spain, Manuel was well known and much loved as a neighbourhood grocer and shop owner who served the people of Woodbrook for decades. A faithful parishioner of St Theresa's Church, Woodbrook, he is survived by his wife Cecile, his sons Anthony and Michael, his daughter Marguerite, his grandchildren, and a large family across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.

Service & interment
- ✦A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Theresa's Church, Woodbrook, followed by interment at Lapeyrouse Cemetery, Port of Spain. Family, friends and former customers are warmly invited to join in prayer and thanksgiving for a life of service. No flowers by request — donations may be made to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
