A life remembered
Mrs. Padma Persad, aged 68, of Mayaro, in the Mayaro/Rio Claro district, passed peacefully on 11 April 2026, surrounded by those she loved.
Born and raised in Mayaro, she was a devout Hindu who worshipped at the village mandir. For nearly four decades she served as a primary-school teacher, shaping generations of Mayaro's children with patience and quiet devotion. She is survived by her husband, her children Sunil, Kamla and Ravindra, her grandchildren, and many former pupils, relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.

Service & interment
- ✦Prayers will be held at the family home in Mayaro, followed by a service at the Mayaro Hindu Mandir.
- ✦Cremation will follow at the Shore of Peace Cremation Site, Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
- ✦Mourners are kindly asked to wear white; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the library fund of the Mayaro Government Primary School.
