A life remembered
Mrs. Savitri Rampersad, aged 82, of Biche, in the Mayaro/Rio Claro district, passed peacefully on 1 April 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Biche, she was a devout Hindu and a long-standing member of the village mandir. A gifted dressmaker, she spent a lifetime sewing for the families of Biche, her careful stitching and gentle counsel remembered fondly by all who knew her. She is survived by her children Basdeo, Radica and Chandrawattie, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.
Funeral arrangements
Service & interment
- ✦Prayers will be held at the family home in Biche, followed by a service at the Biche Hindu Mandir.
- ✦Cremation will take place at the Shore of Peace Cremation Site, Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
- ✦Mourners are kindly asked to wear white; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Biche District Health Facility.
